Privacy Policy
Lyne · Last updated 15 August 2026
Lyne is an EPUB reading app. It stores your books and your reading progress so they follow you between your devices. This policy explains exactly what is stored, why, and how to delete it.
The short version. Your library and your reading data are stored only so that you can read the same book, at the same line, on another device. There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
What is collected
Account information
- Email address and a unique account identifier, provided by Google when you sign in with your Google account. These identify your library so that only you can reach it.
Your books and reading data
- EPUB files you choose to sync, and their metadata — title, author, and cover image.
- Reading positions — where you stopped in each book.
- Highlights, notes, and bookmarks, including the passage of the book you highlighted and any note you wrote on it.
Device identifier
- A random identifier generated by the app on each device, stored on that device. It records which device last saved a reading position, so the app can resolve conflicts when you read on more than one device. It is not your advertising ID, not a hardware ID, and it is not linked to anything outside this app.
What is not collected
- No advertising or marketing data. The app contains no ads.
- No analytics, usage tracking, or behavioural profiling.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data.
- No crash-reporting or third-party tracking SDKs.
Why it is collected
Solely to operate the app's features: to keep your library available on your devices, to resume each book at the exact line you left off, and to keep your highlights and notes in sync. The data is not used for any other purpose.
How it is stored and protected
- Data is held in Supabase (database, file storage, and authentication), which acts as the hosting provider.
- The web version is hosted on Vercel.
- Google handles sign-in and provides the account email and identifier.
- All traffic between the app and its servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Database access is restricted per account at the database level, so one reader's books, positions, and notes cannot be read by another.
These providers process data on behalf of the app in order to run it. Your reading data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Deleting your data
Deleting some of your data, without deleting your account
Everything here is done from inside the app, and takes effect immediately on your devices and in the cloud:
- Delete a book — long-press it in your library and choose Delete. This removes the stored EPUB file, its reading position, and every highlight, note, and bookmark in it.
- Delete a highlight or note — tap it while reading and choose Delete in the popover.
Your account stays active, and everything you did not delete is untouched.
Deleting your account and all of your data
In the app, open the menu in the top-right of your library and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm, because this cannot be undone. It immediately and permanently deletes your account, every EPUB file you have synced, and all reading positions, highlights, notes, and bookmarks — on your devices and in the cloud. Nothing is kept afterwards.
If you have already uninstalled the app, email
nazarov120100@gmail.com from the address you
signed in with, with the subject Delete my account. The same data is erased
within 30 days, and nothing is retained afterwards apart from what the law requires.
Data is kept only for as long as your account exists.
Children
This app is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
